My son bought a home and found a old hatchet head covered by debris in his yard. So as a house warming gift I took it to clean, sharpen and attach a new hatchet. It had no handle so I had nothing to go by. I never knew there were so many different types of hatchets. Luckily I found this website and selected the proper handle. The head still has many rust pits, but it's shiny, sharp and has a great handle. With the time & money I spent restoring this hatchet I could have bought 3! (Not referring to the price I paid here...I purchased other handles that did not fit plus rust removal agents, sandpaper and polishing pads) But that would not be the same. Thanks guys! Great handle for a new family heirloom.
