The 28” double bit handle I received was a bit on the thicker side which was perfect for me because I was planning on modifying it. Grain orientation is good no knots that I can see. I’ve purchased from beaver-tooth before and I’ve always had good results. Shipping is fairly good.

I was excited to receive these. I have an old Maine double bit axe with the diamond eye that I came by. Both have that same feel in my hands. The new haft will have a Kelly Wood slasher 3lb. double bit with a 6 rib eye. The haft will be relief carved with a Solomons knot and a double heart near the axe head. Might as well throw a pretty one!
