I bought this replacement handle and it arrived in about a week. after taking my time to fit the handle to my hatchet head, and glue in the wedges , the old hatchet looks great and I think it will last another 50 years
I bought a bunch of handles from these guys now and revived my old tools. I love the quality and even when I bought the lower grade, have always been impressed.
Beautiful piece of wood. Minor sanding to get the perfect fit. Will continue to pass down through the family to the next boy scout.
Broke the handle on the Marbles No. 9 hatchet my dad used when he was a Boy Scout, and I needed to replace it. handle. Beaver-Tooth had the exact Boy Scout hickory handle I needed. I had to alter the handle head quite a bit to fit the unique hole in the Marbles hatchet, but the modified handle is way stronger than the original. The Beaver-Tooth handle is well-crafted and worth the wait!
Was looking for a good handle to be used on a hatchet. Found the right size for my needs at a very reasonable cost. Fit good on my True Temper Tommy axe that I found laying burried in a family friends garage. Overall satisfied with how it turned out. Wish shipping was a little faster, but I understand the reasons why. I have already bought another one for a larger head. Looking forward to doing more business in the future. Thanks

Re-birth of an old Hatchet--Thanks to Beaver-Tooth
As a kid, I found an old hatchet, presumably used by N.W. Bell in construction. That was about 70 years ago. I recently found the hatchet in my garage, bespattered with paint, rusty and with an old deteriorating handle. Removing the old handle, cleaning and resharpening the head was the easy part. The hard part was finding a good handle and a sheath. After many hours of research, I found Beaver-Tooth Handle Co. I found a replacement handle using their measurements for the eye and also found what I believed would be a good sheath. The measurements in the web site helped trememdously. As I never replaced a hatchet head before, I followed Beaver-Tooth's instructions, and even got on line help to assure I was fitting things properly. The end product is a re-born hatchet with a beatuful handle firmly installed and encased in a sheath that seems tailor made for this old head. While it took a while to receive the items, it was well worth the wait and Beaver-Tooth's responsive support along with their excellent products have made this old guy very happy. My daughter will now have a nice little hatchet for her camping. Thanks, Beaver-Tooth.
Replaced htwo handles for two throwing axes. Held up great so far. Have to order again because I ordered the wrong size for the half hatchet. Couldn’t find a handle with the right dimensions on the website so I bough one that I thought would work. It didn’t but that’s my bad.
Very little adjustment needed for a great fit rehanging an old Plumb BSA hatchet.
After looking at and rejecting scores of handles in hardware stores and on-line sellers I found Beaver Tooth. They looked like a company that was serious about making proper tool handles, and the hatchet handle I bought proves it. It’s made from clear, straight, hickory with a tight grain, it was properly shaped, and after I hammered it on and wedged it, it looks and feels like it’s not going anywhere for a long time. I’ll be shopping here again soon for handles for other old tools I’m restoring.
I restored a vintage 1940’s hewing hatchet and needed a new handle. The one I received was beautiful with straight grain and a nice smooth finish. Thanks!
I have used Link and House handles and prefer Beavertooth handles because the neck requires less trimming to fit the eye and the grain orientation is pretty good. I also like the thin belly but wish the palm swell was a little larger. At first I didn't like waiting 3 weeks but I now understand how the business works. I just order an extra handle so it will be available when I need it.
We are hoping to be in our new facility in the fall and this will help with the shipping time. The axe looks great by the way.
I got this to restore my dad's Boy Scout hatchet from the 1950s. The handle is amazing! It is unvarnished, so it's ready for linseed oil. I had to do a very little shaping and it was a perfect fit. I am absolutely amazed at the perfect grain orientation as well I've got a couple more old axes from my granddad that I need to restore, and I will absolutely buy them here.
Very nice. See the photo. It turned out very well, I thought. I hung a small Norlund head on the new handle.
Ordered four Boy Scout hatchet handles .they took a little while to get but when they came in I was very pleased. Way better than the junk found in our local hardware stores

The hatchet handle fit my old hatchet head eye perfectly.
This is my 3rd purchase overall from Beaver Tooth. Excellent quality as usual. Probably the last handle I’ll ever need for this particular hatchet. I’ll never purchase any type of handle from anybody else.
Great quality product.
The handle is skillfully made and will look great on my son’s Boy Scout hatchet. Thanks for making great products!
I looked everywhere for an exact 15"-long handle to match my old Camp Axe handle that rotted and found one listed on Beaver-Tooth.com. It took about a month to get it and is just over 14" long, a common length I could've gotten at a local hardware store, which would have been cheaper too. The extra large head was a good fit for my axe head though, so I'm not complaining...it's a nice lacquered hickory handle.
Our shipping times are listed so you know what to expect. Only the standard eye handle is 15' the large eye is 14'.
I used this to rehang my great grandfather’s hatchet and it worked great! Super durable feel and very well made.
A little sanding and it fit like a glove. Thank you.

Great product, great customer service, and quick shipment, thank you.
