Finally got it done!

I got the axe from my mom's husband dad, step grandfather I guess. He had gone blind and we went to his house in Wisconsin to move him to an assisted living facility and we could pick out something for helping. I asked for the axe and he told me "I'm blind! I won't be chopping any wood." I broke the handle a couple years later and tried to put a new handle on it and got so frustrated I threw the thing in a bonfire. The fire pile eventually got spread out by some tree company who took down a massive oak and I found the axe head after a rain. It got tossed into a shed for about a decade and I would see it there, mocking me. I eventually decided to try it again and watched some videos on it. I wanted a distinctive handle and this is how it came out.

Wish I would have found this site sooner!

Before finding beaver tooth I had purchased an axe handle from a European company and while the quality is decent it's Not solid hickory, Not made in the USA and was double the price.

I have now purchased several handles from Beaver tooth. All are top quality, arrived quickly, reasonably priced and are USA made. I will purchase purchase form them again.

Vintage style handle for a vintage head

Great handle, love the slim profile. Mounted up to a 1943 Warren “Old Faithful”. Deep kerf cut gives you plenty of room to seat low. Very pleased with the way it turned out.

32" Adirondack Double Bit Hickory Axe Handle

I received a nice thin well crafted hickory handle with great grain orientation.
The perfect compliment to a vintage double bit ax head that I have been saving for just the right handle.
Why the Adirondack didn't catch on elsewhere is a mystery, It has a purpose that some whiners do not want to acknowledge.
