24" Beaver Tooth Hudson Bay / Boys Axe Handle

I’ve been trying to find a handle that fits a Norlund Hudson Bay axe that my father and grandfather repeatedly beat back on the handle with a claw hammer and, with a little work on the axe head and handle, I finally have a working tool again. I did crack the kerf a pounding in the metal wedge, but that’s because I couldn’t find my round metal wedges and just wanted to get the project done. That’s totally not the handle’s issue at all! She’ll still ride for sure!

An awesome product. I’m very pleased with the quality of the handle. It fit perfectly to an old (“experienced”) axe head. I flamed the handle slightly before sealing with boiled linseed oil to bring out a little of the grain. A photo is attached. This was supposedly a flaw but I couldn't find one if there was one. It worked great for the old Craftsman single bit axe head that I found at a flea market. I did a burn in finish to bring out the grain and to give the bottom of the handle some character, and then finished it with linseed oil. I am really happy with this and would purchase again!

Handle fit like a sock on my foot. Put it on a Worth head. Have already put it to use. Feels great!

Bought the last 2 remaining 24 inch boy’s axe handles. They were identified as lowest grade and were priced to sell at $4 each. I would have preferred higher grade because I try to sell my axes and know that many potential buyers will not buy an axe with poor grain orientation or runoff. But I had recently bought a 2 1/4 pound =Craftsman= head and wanted a 24 inch handle for this size head. Since no other company to my knowledge made 24 inch handles, I bought these last two. Both handles had decent grain orientation but Significant grain runoff. Hung one handle and used the axe to split a little stove wood and kindling. It feels great. No sign of any problems. I will use this axe with confidence and think it will last for several years. But I hope BT will make some better grade Handles soon.

I picked up the 24” boys axe handle to hang on my camp axe. The description said Good #2 with blems, but I gotta be honest and say that I can’t really detect any blems on this handle. The grain is tight and the handle is sturdily built. Undoubtedly this handle will last a lot longer than I will. This will be a great piece to hand down to Sons or Grandsons. Very pleased with this purchase and wholeheartedly recommend Beaver-Tooth Handle Company for high quality hard wood American made handle products.

Great handle, used it for a Collins boys axe and it worked great, came in great condition with awesome grain orientation!

This Collins axe belonged to my father and I don’t remember it ever having a handle. Had no luck locating a handle that would fit locally. The handle high quality and an excellent fit. Also ordered a sheath to complete the project. Think my Dad would be happy with the result.
