I'm refurbishing a 1950s hatchet. From my great grandfather. This handle was "B" stock, however it is an amazing piece of hickory. Love it. Great service, will but for my next handle needs.
The overall handle is fine but could use a little shaping. The grain is perpendicular to the legnth of the handle, fine product overall though.
The grain was nice and fit the head perfectly. Hung and working well.

Ordered this great handle and was nicer than expected. Quite nice actually. The only annoyance was that it didn’t ship out very quickly. It was purchased to restore a hatchet head we found metal detecting to be a gift for my sons birthday. I was completely surprised that it took several days to get it into the mail. Didn’t expect that delay. Once shipped it came quickly (even considering it came through the military overseas mail.
Lovely item though. Consider processing orders more quickly.

Good quality handle. Just what I needed
Working on restoring my grandpa’s hatchet from the 1940s, and this was the closest handle I could find to the general form of the original. Hickory is beautiful, sturdy, and included all the parts for mounting the axe head. Will probably grab an extra just to have—finely crafted.

In general the handles look and feel great. My only concern is that only one of the 5 actually seemed to have a true BSA profile (they're generally thinner than a standard hunter/scout style). The other 4 have a visibly and measurably thicker grip. Nothing "wrong" with those handles, but they are not the same as the one that truly reflects a BSA handle.
I'll de-gloss and reshape the others to a true Boy Scout style. Not many makers are putting out a true replica of the BSA handles anymore. Still, GREAT HANDLES and TERRIFIC CRAFTSMANSHIP, I won't hesitate to purchase from Beaver-tooth in the future even if I do have to customize them a little.
Over the years there were many brands that made BS hatchets and of course handles. These fit that type of axe.

These were perfect. Three of the four needed no shaping to fit tightly into the head. The eye of the four head was larger than the others.
Excellent USA-made handle at an excellent price. Just what I was looking for.
I bought this handle on clearance as a backup to the original (45+ years old.) It is a couple of inches longer than the original, so we'll see how it works. I hope I don't need it. All in all it's a very quality handle with the grain going in the right direction so I wouldn't expect any issues.
