Have a couple of my late fathers favorite hatchets, that badly needed new handles, have gotten around to getting one of them on. Originally had trouble finding one and seen a recommendation for beaver tooth. Top notch quality, great fit and arrived quickly. I have a couple other axes of my father's that need new handles and will definitely be getting them here when I get to them. Huge thank you for helping revive a sentimental item that will be used again for many years.
I use beaver-tooth handles on most of my axes, this went on a Norlund hatchet.

I bought this handle to restore an old hatchet I got from my grandfather. With a little love from a rasp I was able to get the handle from Beaver Tooth to fit perfectly in the eye, and the weight feels great in my hand. It came with a little bit of finish that scraped off easily enough, and after sanding and a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil, the handle is just gorgeous.
I initially bought two handles from two different vendors on Amazon—should have known better—that both turned out to be crap. Absolutely going with BT from now on.

Excellent handle. I put this on a rigging hatchet and did a fire finish with some linseed oil and it turned on beautiful. Minor adjustments for the fit and the wedges fit perfectly. Currently purchasing 3 more handles.
I measured the eye of my hatchet, but I ordered a hatchet handle that was a bit too large for the hatchet eye. I had to change the shape a bit to fit into the head. The hatchett is very old (80+ years), so a non standard eye shape was expected.
Now I have a functioning roofing hatchet for cedar shingles and siding. I am pleased.
Fit, finish ,and apparent quality of the handles I received were superior. They were even shipped/delivered sooner than I expected. As time allows I am looking through my tools to identify more handles needing replacement. You guys will get my next order in a few weeks.

I'm very glad I found Beaver Tooth. I bought a handle for an antique broad ax I've had for years and is a favorite tool. It arrived as stated and it was a fantastic fit - just a little tapping and it shaved off a miniscule amount of wood and fit perfectly. A little of the wood wedge was all it needed for a tight fit and the metal wedge wasn't even needed. I'd never buy a handle anywhere else and highly recommend them.

I purchased two handles from Beaver Tooth, a replacement hatchet and a replacement double bit axe both in Hickory. The quality was superb. The grain structure on both was dense and perfectly aligned the way it should be. Far better quality than the typical big box store. I am very happy with the purchase and will be back again. Made in the U.S.A.!
I purchased two handles, a hickory replacement double bit handle and a hatchet handle. Compared to the big box hardware store versions I had initially purchased, these were far superior. The quality of the grain, the shape, final finish, and included wedge and pin were absolutely far better than the big box versions. The grain alignment on both pieces was *superb*. I sanded both of mine to final finish with 400/600/800/ and finally 1000 grit and used Boiled Linseed Oil. After the 4th or 5 coat the handles have that old school beautiful finish like a high grade firearm stock. Beautiful quality and workmanship. Very happy with the purchase and will buy again from this company.
