24" Sledge Hammer Handle. New Hickory

This was the second 24” handle and they have both been excellent quality. I bought the grade #2 handle this time, the quality was the same as the #1 grade handle, just without the coat of varnish. This was fine, because everything gets a coat of linseed oil for protection. I sawed about 4” off the handle due to it being on a 3 lb. hammer.

I discovered Beaver-Tooth while looking to repair an axe that I bought with a cracked handle. Now, whenever I see broken antique axes, sledges, hatchets, mauls, etc. at yard or estate sales I pick them up. Usually they practically give them away, (sometimes they do!). I order up some handles and repair them and they are instantly transformed into family heirlooms that I have been offered decent money for. I may even sell some of them one day but as yet I just treasure and often use them myself. These are but a few that I have done.

Needed a shorter handle for a hand sledge I use around property.
I wanted high quality and made in USA, and this fit the bill on both counts.
Arrived when it was supposed to, was true to specs, and works great.

Quality is a step above handles at my local hardware store and still have good value. These will be the only handles I will buy as long as I gave time to wait for shipping.
