Excellent quality. Wood quality and grain alignment excellent. Limitations are as others have said. Great variety of handles—but not infinite. The handle I purchased was a bit chunky though I presume this is intentional to allow individual craftspeople to customize. This is new wood so any finish will raise the grain, then need to be flattened and a final coat of finish added. I used linseed oil so this was a longish process. Needed to coat it over a few days, then a few days to cure, then knock down the grain, then a final coat, then a shorter cure. Beautiful result.

I ordered two of these (#1 and #2) they're both great! One is for a vintage 3.5lb True Temper "perfect" double bit and the other, a 4+ lb TT "vulcan" its a bit tight on the big 4 pounder but it works. Very pleased.
