Single Bit Leather Axe Sheath Standard Size Axe 3lb.+

Nice heavy leather, quality stitching and hardware. I applied a couple coats of dye, and when that was dry I treated it with a few coats of neat's-foot oil. It took some stretching to get it on my 3.5 lb Kelly Michigan pattern, after working it a bit it slides right it, snaps easily and fits like a glove.
The dimensions of the sheath were as advertised, I knew it was going to be a close fit, but I didn't account for the height and length lost due to the thickness of the axe head.. fortunately leather can be stretched.
No regrets at all, I think it looks pretty sharp, now I have to get to work on the edge .

Bought two axk sheaths and am impressed with the quality. Very well made and look as though they will last a life time.

This is an excellent quality sheath that stains nicely with any leather conditioning product. I will caution people purchasing this sheath to definitely measure the dimensions of their single bit axe head. I had two single bit axes that I thought were fairly standard in size that I planned to use this sheath on. It turns out the blades on both of those axes were bigger than dimensions for this sheath. It was no problem as I had a large house axe and a splitting axe that fit the sheath size fine. The dimensions given on the product description were completely accurate, just please take the time to measure your axe to determine if this sheath is right for you.

Sheath is well made, fits my axe head well. Light color is
a bit off-putting, but after some leather dressing it softened
and darkened up a bit. It should see me and the axe head
out.

It arrived very well made. I love the Beaver Tooth branding on it too. The one thing that was weird was that the leather was pink. However, I remedied this by staining it, which was actually a good thing because I could choose the color and it became a fun little project. Would definitely purchase again.

Nice sheath fit well

This is a great compliment to my assortment of edged tools. It is well made and should serve me well for many years. It is a little short along the cutting edge for the axe I use it for. I will grind away some of the corner of the axe to improve the fit.

These are nice, well-made, sturdy sheaths at a pretty good price. They always need a little oil but break in great.

I had several axe and hatchet covers from a prior order, but I got "talked" out of several of them at hunting camp and had to replenish my supply. Great quality and service.

It's a great sheath but it is to tight to fit my az.. I may have to buy another ax for this sheath

Bought this sheath for a Norland single bit axe that I rarely use, but felt it should be properly protected. The sheath is not a perfect fit (one-size-fits-all items rarely do) but it fits well enough to accomplish its mission. I think a good soaking in Neatsfoot oil to loosen up the leather will ultimately cure the tight fit issues. I also bought four other sheaths for my Norland Hudson Bay Axis and they fit quite well those and a Snow and Nealy I have.

I returned to Beaver Tooth Handle Company because of the quality of their products. If you go to the big chain stores all you find is junk. Every axe handle I have ordered from here has been straight and free of any warp or twist. I got a couple of sheaths to cover them too, because I use SHARP axes. I'll buy here again.

The sheath arrived close to the day I expected. Though I wasn't in a hurry for it.
It fit my new axe very tightly. Thick new leather that will expand in time like my last one.
Totally what I was hoping with it, especially for the price.
