Nice handle, easy install in old adze head. Slide adze on to handle, drop head down on concrete floor a few times until solid fit, cut off excess and it's done.
Last year I put a new beaver-tooth handle on my 50+ year old Collins scout axe. Perfect fit with a couple inches cut off at the head.

I couldn’t find this Adze handle at local hardware stores because of the old design and lack of demand. The other handles on the order all were just what I wanted and fitted the tools great they also look great even though they were called blemishes.

I have a Horton antique Shipwrights Adze made prior to 1853. The original hande was showing its age and I wanted to keep the handle intact. I still use the adze, it is so well built I don’t think you can hurt it. When I received my new handle from Beaver-Tooth it was exactly as advertised. A strong and beautiful piece of hickory. Good feel and balance. If you are in need of a craftsman’s wood handle, you won’t be disappointed.

I purchased a broad axe handle for a restoration and a adze handle for a future restoration, once I find one I like. The broad axe handle was exactly what I wanted allowing me to have an offset handle. I work for the National Park Service and complete hand hewing projects multiple times a year. This axe will be my first broad axe in my personal collection and it will get used for sure. I've just about completed my axe restoration, I need to tune the bit in just a little bit more. Thanks for your superior product. I'm sure I'll be ordering again!

Ordered the handle from Beaver Tooth because the website was easy to search and use, and the adze handle was just what I needed. The adze head is a 1880s Beatty & Sons (Chester PA) and the B-T handle fit it perfectly! Just a bit of cut-off at the end (expected!) and I was in business. Love the handle, fit and finish is great. Made in TN is a huge plus, too. Quick ship at a fair price, totally recommended.

If you’ve come to this site you likely have been frustrated with mass produced tool handles with no consideration given to grain orientation, poor quality stock, etc. or a product that’s not readily commercially available. Look no further. I’ve never reviewed anything in my life but felt compelled to do so here. The adze handle I received exceeded expectations in every way and is priced fair (how often does that happen?) Happy to give a fellow Tennesseean business and will certainly be a repeat customer.

I haven’t had a chance to install it yet. But it looks like a perfect fit. The quality and finish of the hickory is top notch. I would definitely recommend and buy again.

The grain orientation was perfect and there was enough wood left so that it could be fitted to the eye of the adze. The double bit axe handle on the same order, I am not so happy with. The part which fits into the eye of the axe needed to be a bit wider to fit the axe I had intended it for, so I will hang a different axe head on it. I would prefer my axe handle not feel like a club, so I will reduce its cross section a little. Good piece of wood, though.

Plenty of meat to trim for a snug and removable adze fit. Was able to get both my adze heads with different size eyes to fit perfectly with this handle. Decent length, didn’t trim any length off.

The 4 axe and adze handles are great. Good sturdy quality. I am very pleased with the price and quality of these handles. I will definitely purchase more in the future.

I needed to replace the handle in an old adze that belonged to my grandfather. I spent a lot of time as a young lad helping him with chores around his property in the early 1960's so the adze had a lot of sentimental value to me. At some point the handle got broken,(by me) and granddad being a very frugal man taped the handle vs replacing it. He never said a word about me breaking it. Fast forward 55+ years I decided to make a project out of restoring his adze into a useful tool. Unable to find a handle in my area for such an old tool I ordered one from" Beaver Tooth Handle Company". What a pleasant surprise when I opened the box. Inside was a top quality hickory handle that fit perfectly and required very little fitting. I will definitely do business with them in the future. My mother who is 90 got a tear in her eyes when she saw her dad's adze restored to like new condition. I know granddad smiled down too. .

Replacement handle fit like a glove. Great turnaround time on the delivery. Very good quality. Its nice to see someone still making a great product.

2- adze handles, 1-broad axe, 1 broad hatchet hung with Beaver tooth products. Grain was parallel on the three long handles and probably at about 45 degrees on the hatchet which I'm sure will be fine. Mostly sapwood on all of them.
