Ordered this to cover a custom axe I made as a wedding gift and it was the perfect solution to keep the blade safe and protected during transport. Shipping was fast and arrived ahead of schedule. Color was a little lighter than expected but I stained it and it turned out beautifully! High quality craftsmanship!
Very Well made. Stitching, Rivets, & Snaps are all Good Quality !!!!
Open tongue for handle is Great instead of sliding handle through a hole !!
They also leave enough leather on the blade edges to space the rivets far enough away from your cutting edge !!! Very Nice Product !!! Would Recommend to anyone looking for a Double Bit Sheath !!! Very Happy With This Purchase !!!
This is a very well made leather axe sheath. I am very pleased with the quality and fit of the sheath.

This double bit axe sheath is exactly what we were looking for to protect my husband’s antique axe handed down from his grandfather. The piece is made of top quality materials and fits perfectly. It is well worth the money paid.
What a premium sheath! Heavy, top-quality leather, well-stitched and precisely riveted. Fits my 3-1/2 lb. Craftsman Michigan-pattern axe perfectly, even with the haft set a bit “proud” on top. I dyed it with Fiebling’s Walnut Pro-Dye, and finished with Fiebling’s Neutral Leather Balm with Atom Wax. The leather accepted the dye readily and evenly, and the result was outstanding, as can be seen from the attached photo. I also have a pair of Jersey-pattern axe sheaths from Beaver-Tooth, and they are equal in quality to this one.
That's what I'd give if I could. This is a very fine, functional sheath. So I went ahead and ordered a Cruiser double bit axe sheath. Thank you Beaver-Tooth Handle Company!
This fit my Craftsman Double bit very snugly and it looks great. As others have noted, there isn't any padding preventing the snaps from touching the metal but I restore axes to use so I'm fine with that. I did treat it to help break it in and have left it hanging so that the sheath can form to the bit. The leather is very thick and should last longer than I will, very well made product as always.

This is a very well made leather axe sheath. I am very pleased with the quality and fit of the sheath.
This leather sheath is excellent quality. It fits my 3.5 pound Michigan double blade axe perfectly. To make the leather more flexible, I treated it twice with Obenauf's leather treatment, which darkens the leather. Doing this made it easier to fit the sheath onto the axe. Thanks so much for a top quality product that is made is the USA!
Good size for a medium or large axe! The shipping to Canada is a killer though, total is almost $65 with the exchange rate, shipping and taxes.
Well well well…. I just love it when something shows up while we were out of town! I pulled the sheath out of the package and tried it out on the Collins double-bit! It a bit stiff but hey, it’s fresh so no surprise there. The natural colour was a bit off-putting for a visiting friend but that’s fine with me as I’m going to boil up some bark, probably maple because we have lots around here, and make a stain. Obviously I’ll treat the leather with some SnoSeal, wax or something after to make it more water resistant. The size is more than large enough for my 9.5” wide axe and I imagine that there’s enough room for a 10.5”. The height is what 6” total and dwarfs my 4.25” head height so there is a fair bit of room in there. The haft space is generous and there is a decent grip once the head is set into it. The snaps are significant and despite no place to hang off of a belt, I fully intend to modify the sheath for a pair of 2.25” belt holes to keep the axe inverted on my back while getting to the cut. Otherwise, nice kit!!
The sheath is very well made. My old ax bit is very old and larger than average, it fits tightly in the sheath and was very difficult to snap closed, but I expect that the leather will stretch.
Worth the wait. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Fits my axe like a glove. American craftmanship alive and well at Beaver tooth. Thank you, from Long Island.
Super satisfied, Unsurpassed quality and workmanship, Proud to purchase and support products of true craftmanship made in the USA! Absolutely recommend these!
The title says it all. High quality construction and fits like a glove. This was my first purchase, but will certainly not be my last.
We'll made...fits nicely
Very nice ax cover well made
nice cover for an old Plumb double bit axe.
Looks like both will last for many years to come
At this point I have several sheaths from Beaver-Tooth all of them excellent in workmanship and materials.
The double bit sheath is something special though, each bit is enveloped in a separate fold of leather
And secured by a flap with snaps over the top.
What's great about this is to remove the axe you only need slide it up enough to clear the head.
Beautifully executed. Looks good too.
The double bit axe sheath I received was a nice fit and is very well made. It is untreated leather so I need to put some glove or boot oil on it to protect it from the way I tend to mistreat things.
I purchased a sheath for an old Sager double bit chemical axe and a sheath for a a Collins Legitimus made for Hoffman Hardware Co. Los Angeles. The axes belong to my father and I hung the Sager on a new handle and rehung the Collins on it's original handle after restoring it a bit. Both axes are going back to work and those sheaths will protect them in the back of my pickup when I drive on unpaved ranch roads.
I am very pleased with the quality of the double-bit sheath I purchased. Also purchased a couple of handles, and am equally pleased with them. Straight grained, lovely handles. Thank, Beaver Tooth!
I purchased four different sheaths for axes I have restored. All were very high quality and exactly as described on the website. The leather color is quite light on arrival, but they take leather conditioning product very well and darken nicely. Shipping is slower than you would typically expect, but is very much worth the wait. I will be ordering more of their sheaths in the near future.
Bought 5 of these for some restorations I'm about to do. Very heavy duty and good build quality/stitching. They come so light-colored...they really benefit from being darkened. The Skidmore did help a bit, but a further darkener would be a nice touch for vintage heads.
