This hickory handle is incredibly hard, so hard I considered keeping it as a club vice putting it on my froe. I did put it on the froe and it is plenty strong to pry wood open with 0 concern of the handle breaking. Pull the trigger and look no further for great handles. Super smooth finish!

I got a hand-made froe blade from a former violin maker and needed a handle suitable for such a storied tool. This one fit the bill (and the blade) perfectly!

This looks to be excellent grade wood combined with quality workmanship. No Chinese bamboo here!
