Excellent handle. It fit my 75 year old 10 lb Waco sledge hammer perfectly.
Nice looking handles. I had to do a little whittleing/ danding but that is expected. The included wood and metal wedges worked out well.
I have the chance to install the handle yet, but the wood grain looks great. Very tight, almost couldn't tell it was hickory at first.
As stonemasons we break 2 8lb. hammer handles a year, on average, and these BeaverTooth handles are the spoiler. Regular hardware store, box store handles do not last, by comparison. So what’s expensive and what’s cheap? Usual rant about not buying junk….
Best handles ever!

Beaver-Tooth is my go to for quality wood tool handles. Never any fitment issues and always to notch results. I look for antique and quality tools with missing or broken handles and restore them better than new. They're all treasured keepsakes when finished.
I ordered a few handles from Beaver-Tooth for some maul and sledge restoration projects. The handles, and their included wooden and metal wedges, arrived in ample packaging and excellent condition and were honestly both simple, elegant works of art. That sounds a little hyperbolic, but I really appreciated the quality. This handle was used to refinish a 6lb splitting maul. Combined with some metal re-working, a bit of sandpaper, and some linseed oil, the end product was an improvement over the original. Couldn't be happier and will be returning here for any future hickory handle needs.

Best handles ever!
Good looking handle for my splitting maul. I bought a #2 and the grain was about 45 degrees in relation to the head. It is straight and I think will serve me well.
Beautiful stock used for a replacement sledge handle; straight grained and as clean a finish as you could ask for. Beaver Tooth prices are extremely reasonable and the quality is first rate. Definitely worth a little wait. I’m about to order again and would highly recommend to anyone.
These folks sent me a second shipment when the 1st was lost in the mail. got the handles, fixed the spitting wedge, and full steam ahead.
Thank you very much!
it was the wrong handle, I just ordered the correct one. it is beautiful however
Fit perfectly in my 16 LB. Persuader
This hickory sledge hammer handle was made with excellent craftsmanship. The hickory wood was well-designed and perfectly dimensioned. Beaver Tooth Handle company may be a small company but it's products are some of the highest quality I've ever seen. It's a pleasure to buy from a company whose attention to detail and quality is the standard and whose products are made in the USA. My items were packed extremely well. It fit well, came with 2 wedges - steel and wood. It's rewarding to have saved an old, well-used sledge hammer !!!
I'm glad to have found this company online and I will continue to buy all my wood products from them.
All my expectations have been exceeded and I'd highly recommend this company.
Always premium handles you can’t go wrong with beaver tooth
Great sledge handle!
Handle is well made with straight grain. My only comment is I had to sand it a little bit as the handle was too smooth and hard to hang on to. After lite sanding, the handle was just fine. Yes I would buy again.
excellent quality products here, even with the shipping costs for 1/2 country away....still better than what you'll find at a local store small or large
You couldn’t ask for a better sledge handle ! Beautiful grain structure , fine Finnish ,great Quality .
Great job Beavertooth !! Thank you ! JN
Fit and finish was perfect!
Such an amazing handle for maul
Again, amazing job by Beaver Tooth Handle Co!!
The handle fit fine, nice and snug. Excellent wood quality.
Handle is perfectly well made.
I restore old tools for a hobby and occasionally do work for others. My customer was super pleased with the look and feel of the handle. I’ve ordered several handles from beaver tooth and haven’t been disappointed.
I cut and split about 3 cords a year ... by hand of course ... and usually manage to bust my ax & maul handles after a year or two. Needed three handles this year ... and couldn't even get the right fit at Tractor Supply, Lowes, Hone Depot. Found Beaver Tooth online and checked the measurements ... ordered three (all different) handles. I figured at least one would be no fit ... but wrong -- they are all perfect. And excellent quality. And price is right too. Good work Beaver Tooth --- and thanks!
Took a bit of work to fit it well but that’s to be expected. It’s a great handle and much better than the one I was replacing. Looking for other handles I can replace with a beaver tooth!
Love this handle. Smooth and solid. Great communication and timely shipping
