One of my log carriers had a badly weathered handled. It was a safety concern for our trails association. This will alleviate concerns. It's a red/white hickory blend which doesn't concern me. The key is that the grain is continuous through the handle.

Excellent handle, knot free and good tight hickory. A little splash of red heart but doesn't bother me. On a more comical note my mail carrier declared that it was the largest french rolling pin she had ever seen.
