Purchased two handles, very impressed with the quality of the wood and craftsmanship of these handles. These handles are thicker than what I had before from local big box store and the difference in quality is so far superior to what I had before. Can't wait to handle my two axes with the new handles. Grain orientation is great.
Looks good, grain orientation is spot on. Fit the head well, but then I found that the head (which I have never used before) is in dire need of some reshaping and sharpening. So, handle good, head bad, and that makes for a rather inaccurate rating and review!
As always, a top quality chunk of hickory. Sleek an smooth, can't wait to hang an axe on it. Already placed another order. Great experience!
I restore old axes from time to time and, when I received a pair these, I decided to only use one at this time. The axe heads I have on hand aren't worthy enough to mount on these handles, that's how nice they are. At this point I can't wait till they have some of there double bit handles in stock, so I can get to work on some very nice old Plums and True Temper's I have, just waiting for handles like these.
Beaver-Tooth Handle Co. is my go-to for all my wooden handled tool repairs. Their handles have a fit and finish that not only makes the repair super easy, but also makes the tool easier to use. The American hickory they use actually makes all my tools so strong and attractive that I will be proud to hand them down to my children. I've even started looking for high quality antique tools at estate and garage sales so I can replace the handles and use them. They are like heirloom tools that anyone would be proud to own.
